Dynamic Coaching to help our students reach their potential. All of our coaches complete comprehensive training to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to deliver top quality training sessions. All our coaches are police vetted and senior coaches hold first aid qualifications.

Marie France

Director & Head Coach

Marie France, Director and Coach established the Gymnastics Academy in 2011. A proud level 10 competitor and 5x medalist for the Bay of Plenty at the New Zealand Gym Sport Championships.

As a gymnast Marie also represented South West England over a 10 year career, helping teams to win many national titles at British competition and taking individual placing's.

As a coach on completion of a B.A degree in sport management & GB senior coach certification developed young gymnasts through the high performance program before moving to New Zealand taking on a coaching position with top Auckland based gymnastic centre.

Starting out in NZ Marie was coach to North Harbor & Bay of Plenty teams at national competition before establishing the gymnastics academy. With a Masters degree in health, sport & human performance, Marie’s extensive knowledge & experience in sport inspires many students to achieve goals. " I would like to see more children improving their fundamental motor skills, increasing their confidence and participating in gymnastics from an early age."

Apostolos Siatras

Senior Coach

Apostolos is a Senior Coach in our training programmes with a degree in sport science and currently studying a Masters degree in sport at Waikato University. When Apostolos is not coaching in classes he is also a personal trainer for adults and enjoys seeing his students learn and progress.

Leah Douglas

Senior Coach

Leah is a Senior Coach in our Bay of Plenty training programmes with a strong back ground in competitive gymnastics. Leah spent many years as a junior gymnast training in the national programme competitively winning various team and individual placings throughout the New Zealand competitive circuit.

Gemma Thornton

Senior Coach

Gemma is a Senior coach in our training programmes. Gemma has recently finished a sport science degree and is a specialist in conditioning training as well as dance and gymnastics.

Lenore Pope

Assistant Coach

Lenore is an assistant coach in our training programme and was involved in our programmes as a student during intermediate school. Lenore now enjoys returning to class to pass on her knowledge and experience to current students and helping them get results at school competitions.
